| How I Learned to Drive
is a play written by American playwright
Paula Vogel. The play premiered on
16 March 1997 off-broadway at the
Vineyard Theatre. Vogel received the
1998 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for
the work. The story follows the strained,
sexual relationship between Li'l Bit
and her aunt's husband, Uncle Peck,
from her adolescence through her teenage
years into college and beyond. Using
the metaphor of driving and the issues
of pedophilia, incest, and misogyny,
the play explores the ideas of control

| Remember is a spectacle
of dance and theatre that makes you
dream. A story including seven years,
an uncanny occurrence or maybe just
a dream, was taking place in Berlin,
in the year 1907. The extensive ambiguity
of this story, one of the most wonderful
literary plays ever written in Romanian,
deals with the enigma of identity.
Mateiu Caragiale had a cult for mystery,
in a world where enigma, mystery and
discretion began to be trivialized
with. When Mateiu was writing Remember
or "Beau...."the decadence literature,
fin de siècle, had already outworked
its potential in the Occident. As
an expression of our lack of synchrony,
Mateiu was impersonating an inter-war
character on Victory Avenue, the occidental
danddy "the creation of feminine
seduction through masculine means".
An intriguing friendship is brought
about numerous questions emerge, about
a friend but remains fresh into my
mind, a fascinating, beautiful and
imaginary memory. |
