Between the 22nd and the 31st of august 2011, Art Act Cultural Association, with the support of The Romanian Ministry of Culture an National Patrimony, is launching a new art project, called The Cutting Edge International Art Camp.
The project foresees the creation of an art camp in Belis-Fântânele, Cluj County. The participants will be four international artists and upcoming artists from the University of Arts and Design from Cluj-Napoca. During the Art Camp, they will experience an exchange of ideas and experience.
The Cutting Edge International Art Camp project wants to make visible the fact that the number of cultural events that take place in informal spaces is not enough, and this could lead to a decrease of the cultural quality. To fight this risk, the project plans to create an art camp that offers young artists the possibility to improve their professional status under the guidance of international artists.
The project's final result will consist in the creation of several artworks that will be later put on display in an accessible location
As a conclusion, the project will lead to an increase of the artistic products' quality in the local area and an increase in visibility for the participating artists, the last point being achieved throughout an exhibition.
The participating artists are:
Alice Grassi (IT)
Anca Badea (RO)

"I Fought the X and the X Won" at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta, Malta
- "I Fought the X and the X Won", the international contemporary fine art exhibition, will take place at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta, Malta. The event will open Friday, July 15 2011, at 8:30 PM.
The exhibition is open until August 15, 2011.
The exhibition "Herbs for cure" - Mariana Gheorghiu Badeni - Romanian Peasant Museum
- "Herbs for cure" gathered in exquisite boxes and afterwards embroidered with precious threads can be seen from July 7, at Irina Nicolau Hall of the Romanian Peasant Museum. A notebook of beauty came out from the waste of nature. After a Scandinavian travel, Mariana Gheorghiu brings from Cluj a large exhibition, using embroidery and vegetable matter. This assembly won the Prize of The Union of Romanian Artists in 2006. It's an amazing universe that resacralizes the rustic vestiges of the households, using fiber arts and the ingenious technique of objectual art reassemblage.
